My use of the word “Fatherland” directly relates to the fact that Germany has always been referred to as 'der Vaderland'. And MY interpretation is that a “Fatherland” is a place of the birth of ones heritage. Where my paternal family originates from. My “Motherland” is South Africa where I was born and raised.
